Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati

Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station. Our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in and rest, enjoy a city tour.

Highlights:

  • Visit Kamakhya Temple - one of the most revered Shakti Peethas
  • Sunset river cruise on the Brahmaputra
  • Evening at leisure to explore local markets

Overnight: Guwahati Hotel

Day 2: Guwahati to Kaziranga (210 km / 4-5 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceros.

Highlights:

  • Scenic drive through Assam's countryside
  • Check-in at resort near Kaziranga
  • Visit to nearby tea gardens (optional)
  • Evening briefing about safari activities

Day 3: Kaziranga Wildlife Safari

Experience the thrill of wildlife safaris in Kaziranga National Park. Early morning and afternoon jeep safaris offer the best chances to spot the Big Five of Kaziranga.

  • Morning elephant-back safari (optional, subject to availability)
  • Afternoon jeep safari in Central Range
  • Spot one-horned rhinos, wild elephants, water buffaloes

Day 4: Kaziranga to Majuli (140 km / 4 hours)

Drive to Jorhat and take a ferry to Majuli, the world's largest river island. This unique island is the cradle of Assamese neo-Vaishnavite culture.

  • Ferry ride across the mighty Brahmaputra
  • Visit ancient Satras (Vaishnavite monasteries)
  • Witness mask-making and pottery crafts
  • Explore Mishing tribal villages

Day 5: Majuli Exploration

Full day to explore the cultural richness of Majuli Island. Experience the traditional Assamese way of life and unique art forms.

  • Explore Auniati Satra and its ancient artifacts
  • Cycle tour through paddy fields and villages

Day 6: Majuli to Sivasagar (90 km / 3 hours)

Ferry back to Jorhat and drive to Sivasagar, the historical capital of the Ahom Kingdom that ruled Assam for 600 years.

  • Sivasagar Tank - man-made lake built in 1734
  • Shiva Dol, Vishnu Dol, and Devi Dol temples
  • Rang Ghar - Asia's first amphitheater
  • Talatal Ghar - underground military station
  • Joysagar Tank and temples

Overnight: Sivasagar Hotel

Day 7: Sivasagar to Guwahati & Departure (370 km / 7 hours)

After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati for your onward journey. Carry beautiful memories of Assam's wildlife and culture.

  • Morning visit to local market (if time permits)
  • Drive through scenic tea gardens
  • Transfer to airport/railway station
  • Tour concludes with wonderful memories
